First NTA 8776 certificate has been issued by Telefication B.V!

Following the publication of a standard for fast electric bicycles (speed pedelecs, S-EPAC’s), NTA 8776, it is now possible to certify speed pedelec helmets to this standard. In cooperation with an expert group NEN has developed the certification scheme NCS 8776 in which requirements for certification bodies (CB’s) are written down to certify to NTA 8776.

As from now, helmet manufacturers can contact Telefication B.V.  to certify speed pedelec helmets. After a successful conformity assessment, the manufacturers achieve a certificate and can attach the accompanying mark of approval to the helmet. To be allowed on the Dutch market the mark of approval, is mandatory. Telefication B.V in Zevenaar, is the only CB in the Netherlands that have made a license agreement with NEN to certify to NCS 8776 and has already issued the first NTA877 certificate in a very short amount of time.
