Wireless technologies have introduced new ways of connecting and communicating that affect our daily lives. Every day new products and systems are developed, created and built based on electronic and wireless technology. Before introducing them to the market, these products and systems need to be tested, approved and certified to ensure quality and safety in use. That’s where Kiwa comes in.
As an independent accreditation organisation, Kiwa provides worldwide services in the field of product testing, approval and certification. We make sure that electronic equipment and wireless technologies destined for the market are reliable, safe and meet the necessary standards. We also support customers who want to get their products and systems tested and certified for new or changed standards, laws and regulations. Our team of qualified test and certification engineers work closely with you during the testing, inspection and certification processes to deliver the best results in the shortest time possible.
Accredited certification body in Europe, US, Canada and Japan
Kiwa is a top 10 American Federal Communications Commission (FCC), telecommunications certification body (TCB) and a Notified Body accredited by the Dutch Accreditation Council (Raad voor Accreditatie). Moreover, Kiwa is an accredited certification body allowing us to certify products for Europe, the United States, Canada and Japan. We are an accredited certification body to the ISO 17065, which enables us to act as a certification body for the RED, EMC, PPE, CPR, MED, FCC, ISED and MIC Japan regulations.
Worldwide inspection and certification services
With our first class services we offer you the highest quality test services for electronic equipment and wireless technology to enable the introduction on the market. We offer testing, inspection and certification services worldwide for electronic equipment and wireless technology. Thanks to our global network we can offer you testing, inspection and certification services all over the world. In our state of the art ISO 17025 accredited laboratory in the Netherlands we perform wireless technology testing and EMC and EST testing. We also test maritime equipment, such as maritime mobile radiotelephones, navigation systems and voyage data records (VDR).
Our history
Kiwa Telefication, then called Telefication and now called Kiwa, was established in 1985 by the Dutch postal and telecom services (PTT) and the global energy consultancy company KEMA who wanted to create their own test lab for telecom equipment. In 1990 Telefication became an official notified body, accredited by the Dutch accreditation council RvA, allowing Telefication to test and certify products for companies in Europe, the United States, Canada and Japan. In 2012 Telefication became part of independent testing, inspection and certification company Kiwa. Rebranded to Kiwa Telefication, we are now a full-service company for testing, inspection and certification with activities that cover the world.
